Luanda – The Ministry of Science and Technology (Mincit) has trained and developed human resources, as well as infrastructures adequate for production, dissemination and promotion of knowledge and scientific innovation in the country.
This was said Friday in Luanda by the minister of Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira.
Maria Cândida Teixeira who was speaking at a yearend greetings ceremony with workers of her department, said that in 2008 Mincit transformed science, technology and innovation into a strategic element in the country’s development policy.
The minister added that it was possible to create and consolidate a national system of efficient science and technology, foment a scientific and technological culture and promote innovation nationwide.
According to the minister, the institution worked on a package of directing documents, with highlight to the updating of the ministry’s Organic Statute, approved by Cabinet Council, and finalised the bill on technical career for support for research, as well as remuneration statute.
It has also elaborated a project on policies and technologies and submitted for approval of the Government, the bill on the National Science and Technological Award and others.
Maria Cândida Teixeira defended the establishment of ties with other countries, adding that the ministry created working commissions that travelled to South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Portugal, Cuba, Brazil, Japan, France, Hungary, Ethiopia and India.
