Minister calls for greater responsibility in exploitation of natural resources

Caxito – Angolan Environment minister, Fátima Jardim, called for greater responsibility in the exploitation of natural resources, especially on the companies involved in exploration of aggregates in northern Bengo province.

 

The Cabinet minister said this Tuesday at the ceremony of presentation of an environmental assessment study in Mabubas commune, municipality of Dande, northern Bengo province.

 

Warning the companies involved in exploration of aggregate materials, the minister said that henceforth the Environment ministry and government of Bengo province will act strictly against the companies that fail to comply with their obligations.

 

"We will act against those who would insist violating. We've conducted a survey, the study (environmental assessment) is well done. Now, according to the study, we will continue the applying the law”, said the official who pledged to take the concerns at the central level so that the issue can be addressed at multisectoral level.
