Huambo - Participants in the seminar on Environment Management held on 11-18 July, in the capital city of the central Huambo province recommended the local government to work toward the strengthening of the environmental education programme.

According to the final communique, the 50 technicians of public administration from the provinces of Benguela and Huambo also recommended the local government to continue providing conditions for carrying out surveillance, evaluation, monitoring and environmental education.

On the other hand, they recommended the Ministry of Environment to create effective mechanisms that ensure wider dissemination and applicability of legal instruments.

The entrepreneurs were encouraged to have greater environmental awareness in relation to their projects, as well as greater efforts to protect the environment.

The event was promoted by the provincial government of Huambo.
