President's role in implementing development programmes hailed

Rio de Janeiro – The role played by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, in the implementation of sustainable development programmes in the country was highlighted on Monday, on the fringes of activities that precede Rio+20 Summit, set for 20-22 June in Brazil.

According to the Minister of Environment, Fátima Jardim, the current gains resulted from the President dos Santos’ commitment who was able to interpret the thoughts of his people and his nation.

Speaking to the press, the minister stressed that this is why the president is being reminded during Rio+20 conference by companies which operate in Angola and national ecological organizations that are participating in the event.
