Angola at 16th biodiversity meeting in Montreal

Luanda – Angola, through the Ministry of Environment, is participating since the end of April in the 16th meeting of UN Convention on Biological Diversity, going up to 11 May in Montreal city in Canada.


 
In this meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advisory (SABSTTA)-16, the country is being represented by the head of department of conservation areas, National Parks and Natural Reserves of the Ministry of Environment, Joaquim Manuel.


 
From Montreal, Joaquim Manuel said to Angop that the same body will hold on 7-11 May its fourth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation (WGRI 4) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

 

According to him, the first meeting aims to deeply analyse in which measures “SABSTTA” may use to reinforce ways and means to improve effectiveness of the its implementation of the activities of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
