Luanda – The Angolan Environment Ministry and the Department of State for Environment and Long-lasting Development of Guinea-Bissau signed last Tuesday, in Luanda, an understanding memorandum in this area.
The signing of the memorandum happened in the ambit of the celebrations of the Environment National Day (January 31) and the documents were signed by the officials in charge of the Interchange sector, in a ceremony witnessed by the two countries’ Environment ministers, Maria de Fátima Jardim (Angola) and Mário Dias Sami (Guinea-Bissau).
Based on the experience of Guinea-Bissau, Angola wants an exchange of information and co-operation in the management and conservation of ecosystems, protected areas, as well as coastal and marine zones.
In view of these goals, the two parties agreed to identify together sources of financing for the implementation of the memorandum.
This memorandum also includes the exchange of technical delegations that will have the mission to analyse and outline the best strategies of bilateral co-operation.
