Specialist warns about damage to humid zones

Luanda – The non sustainable action of human beings against the species in humid zones habitats was pointed on Monday, in Luanda, as being one of the causes of its degradation by the official of the Israeli biodiversity consulting firm, Tamar Ron.

The consultant, who was speaking to ANGOP in the ambit of the world humid zones day, to be marked on February 02, explained that the fish must not be caught in an abusive way, that is, in such a way that the species becomes endangered.

Tamar Ron also mentioned other negative effects in humid zones, such as the appearance of invading species, non sustainable development and pollution.

To her, it is very easy to avoid negative attitudes, adding that human beings only need to be conscious about the importance to preserve and protect humid areas.

She emphasised that the use of both water and species has to be done in a sustainable way and needs monitoring, as well as legislation, because it has to do with the survival of human beings.
