Environment Ministry makes national list of humid zones


Luanda – The Ministry of Environment and its partners conducted a a feasibility studies to draw up a national list of the humid zones, as well as documents for its adherence to Ramsar Framework Convention.

 

 
This was said to Angop on Monday by the focal point of Ramsar Convention in Angola, Nascimento António.

 


According to him, the future national list will enable to create a database containing each humid zone, its location, characteristics, extension, ways of usage and fears.

 

 
Speaking in the ambit of the world humid zones day, to be marked on February 02, the source said that this list will also permit to identify the humid zones, its current state of conservation, types of usage and its stakeholders.

 


Most of the humid zones of Angola are south-eastern region of the country, mainly in the provinces of Bié, Kuando Kubango and Moxico.
