Huambo – An ecological committee will be created, this month September, by a group of local journalists, aiming to contribute actively to people’s environment education and support government initiatives toward making Huambo city as the first ecological capital of the country.
Speaking to Angop, in Huambo, the coordinator of the creating committee commission, Filipe Olímpio, said that there would be created by environmentalists, agronomists, religious authorities and traditional authorities, as well as journalists and teachers of geography and environment study.
The source informed that the ecological committee will have the responsibility to promote capacity-building workshops to train local journalists in environment subjects and strengthen teacher’s capacity and activists on protection and preservation of the environment.
