Luanda – Angola's minister of Environment, Fatima Jardim, on Thursday here called for the assistance of developed countries to African projects of environmental protection and management of natural calamities, although the greenhouse gases emissions in
Africa is reduced.
Fátima Jardim who was speaking at the closing of a workshop on creation of the future regional centre of studies on the soils and climatic alteration (RSSC), in an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education of Germany, said the continent should be supported in order to reach sustainable development.
In her opinion, the support will reduce the constrains that the continent records and change the world programme on climate changes, in an opportunity of development, particularly in the region, due to its importance.
"We have to adopt measures and prepare ourselves to participate more and more in environment programmes, in which climate changes be part of the agendas and projects of states for the preservation of the planet’s life", she said.
For three days, participants debated themes such as Climate Changes and Use of the Soils, Climate Changes and Use of Soils Taking into Account the Different Regions of the World”, among other issues related to soils.
