Luanda governor opens environmental education programme

Luanda – Luanda governor, Francisca do Espírito Santo, Thursday in Viana district opened a series of meetings aimed at presenting the environmental education programme in the province.


At the opening ceremony, the governor said that the beginning of the school year was marked by the setting of goals for 2010, which include the re-launching of sports and the environmental education in the schools.


To this purpose, she said that the Luanda provincial government has also invited the Ministries of Environment and Education to attend the event as well as the directors from Cacuaco and Viana schools to hold the first contact with this important programme.


According to Francisca do Espírito Santo, the programme will be jointly implemented by the provincial department of education and garbage collecting firm "Elisal".
