Luanda - The First National Communication of the Ministry of Environment, set to be drafted until the end of the year, in the light of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Changes, is being submitted to public consultation on Thursday in Luanda.
The event that is taking place on the premises of the National History Museum, will also focus on a project on environmental education, its website and photo exhibition depicting the current trend of climate changes in the world.
According to a note delivered Wednesday to Angop, the drafting of the first National Communication, which was jointly sponsored by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Angolan Government, includes the national inventory on greenhouse gas emissions by sources and emission area, as well as carbon arresting national capacity.
The Angolan Government approved in 2008 a National Strategy on the implementation of the UN Convention on Climatic Changes that defines key actions for the achievement of its goals.
