Luanda - Environment Ministry is promoting Wednesday in Luanda the first meeting of the National Designated Authority (AND), an agency of the sector responsible for approving eligible projects for the carbon market.
The meeting will happen as part of March 3, the African Environment Day that this year will be marked by the emanation of the African Union, with the aim of calling the attention to current environment problems.
Being moderated by the minister of Environment, Fátima Jardim, the meeting is to analyse and approve the Memorandum of Understanding on the National Designated Authorities (AND) and Clean Mechanism of Development.
The list of projects for each governmental institution involved in AND, including the analysis of its rules are among the documents to be present at the meeting.
The National Designated Authority was created under a decree of January 13 and among various actions, grants written approval that confirm projects of voluntary nature, compatible with established national and international criteria aimed for the sustainable development of the country.
AND is comprised of the following ministries; Environment, Agriculture, Energy and Water, Oil, Territory Administration, Higher Education, Science and Technology, Transport, Finance, Commerce and Tourism, Geology and Mining and Industry.
