Civil Protection Service warns of high tides


Luanda – The National Civil Protection and Fire Service, the organ assigned to the Interior Ministry, warned the population of coastal areas for possible occurrences of high tides, from the end of February, in Luanda, Benguela, Namibe, Zaire and Cabinda provinces.

 

According to a communiqué issued by the Department of Civil Protection, delivered to ANGOP, the warning is extended to residents of coastal areas, as well as for fishermen and bathers, of the coastal provinces.

 

The high tides recorded in the second week of February this year claimed two lives and destroyed homes in the provinces of Namibe and Benguela.
