Luanda – The first technical events on national parks that started Tuesday in Luanda, closed Wednesday, with several proposals intended to help improve the implementation of projects on natural zones in Angola.
Held within the framework of January 31, National Environment Day, the event was also intended to seek solutions for the management of national parks, through debates and contributions from local and foreign institutions.
The participants discussed matters concerning the nature, with a view to the sustainable development, the situation of the national parks, of the giant black antelope and the participation of local communities in the management of parks.
The contribution of the national parks in the fight against poverty, contract-programme of public-private partnership in the management of national parks, research opportunities and management of conservation areas by international non-governmental organisations, legislation and regulations on conservation areas, techniques of evaluation of energetic resources were also discussed at the meeting.
Chaired by the Justice minister, Guilhermina Prata, who represented the Environment minister, Fátima Jardim, the event was attended by representatives of international organisations linked to the defence of the planet earth.
Attending the meeting were also guests from Mozambique, Cape Verde, South Africa, central Government members, vice-governors of the provinces of Malanje, Uige, Kuando-Kubango and Zaire.
