Luanda – Angola is expected to attend the World Convention on Biological Diversity scheduled for November 2-15, in Montreal, Canada.
According to an official note released by the Environment Ministry, delivered to Angop, in Luanda, the Angolan representative will participate at the working group meeting opened on article 8th and at 8th conference on the access and sharing of benefits from biodiversity resources.
The working group meeting will discuss matters related to the knowledge and practices of use of biodiversity resources.
During the event, the participants will discuss aspects related to the mechanism to boost the effective participation of indigenous and local communities in matters associated with goals based on that article and the connected disposition of the referred convention on biological diversity.
Whereas, at the 8th meeting on access and sharing of the benefits of biodiversity resources, which will take place from November 09-15, the international community intends to draft a system that which governs the adhesion to the various methods available in nature.
The two documents will be submitted for approval during a session of the Conference of Parties to be held in 2010 in Japan, says the note.
