Kinshasa - Thousands of Christians marched peacefully in Kinshasa against the war between the Government army and rioting groups in the province of North Kivu, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (AFP).
The protesters, who observed a minute of silence and also paraded inside the country, marched in groups of several tens or hundreds with Bibles and rosaries, praying and singing, according to the source.
At noon, they were at least 100,000 to join the different parts of the city, according to Father Leonard Santedi, general secretary of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (Cenco), which was in the organisation of the "march of hope for peace."
