Gunmen Kill Former Government Official in Hiran Region

Somalia — unidentified gunmen have shot and killed a former member of the transitional government in Beledweyn town in Hiran region, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Saturday.

Reports say that the deceased man was one of the former transitional government officials in Hiran region in central Somalia and led by Yusuf Ahmed Hagar (Dabaged).

Locals said that the gunmen who killed the man had escaped as they murdered the official in the town today adding that the murdered had already halted working with the transitional Federal government in the region in central Somalia pointing out that he was a former that time.

It is unclear the reason he was killed so far and there is no comment about the murdering action from the Islamic administration of Hizbul Islam in the Hiran region.

It is the first time that killing action happens in Beledweyn town since the announcement of the Islamic administration of Hizbul in Hiran region.
