Lisbon - April 4 bridge, located over Catumbela river, on Benguela/Lobito highway, was awarded with Secil Civil Engineering 2011 Prize,by Secil and Portugal’s Engineers Order.
The award, recognized as the reference for the civil engineering, distinguishes, in a period of two years, the most significant project in the area, according to a press release that ANGOP had got access on Friday.
Also according to the press release, April 4 bridge was designed by Portuguese engineers Armando Rito and Pedro Cabral and
is distinguished by innovative techniques used, as well as the planning and execution of the work.
Owned by the Ministry of Urbanisation and Construction, through the Road Institute of Angola (INEA), this bridge was built by
the consortium Mota-Engil/Soares da Costa, being seen as a contribution to the reconstruction of Angola and the promotion of
industry and agriculture in the region. "
