Luanda - The minister of Urbanisation and Construction, Fernando Fonseca, announced Wednesday in Luanda the facelift of degraded houses in the Angolan capital.
The minister was speaking to the press at the end of a tour of works of rehabilitation of secondary and tertiary roads in the neighbourhoods of Mártires do Kifangondo, Cassenda, Prenda, Morro Bento and Palanca, in the municipalities of Maianga and Kilamba Kiaxi.
“We appeal to the various entities, both public and private to participate in the facelift of the houses along these zones we are working on,” stressed the minister.
“We are assuming a commitment of the central Government, together with the government of Luanda province, aimed at taking care of the areas surrounding the capital in need of arrangement and integrated system of infrastructures,” the official also said.
To him, only a concerted work of the two systems of infrastructures of roads and urbanisation can the concerns of the city be addressed, under an undertaking that can cater for seven to eight million inhabitants.
Minister Fernando Fonseca was accompanied by the secretary of State for Construction, Joanes André, the secretary of State for Housing, Joaquim Silvestre, and other technicians.
