Luanda - The chairperson of the Committee of ministers of Transport and Meteorology SADC, Augusto da Silva Tomás, pointed out in Luanda, the shortage of financial resources and the allocation of funds, coupled with an inability to develop projects based on technical levels as being the most concerns to member countries of the organisation for the implementation of local and regional infrastructure.
Augusto da Silva Tomás, who spoke at the closing session of the 2nd conference of ministers responsible for infrastructure, said that in light of concerns, solutions must be found consensus to allow the achievement of planned projects and future projects on due time.
In his view, the key to the success of the regional integration process involves the construction of infrastructure in member countries, an integrated network of transport accessibility and mobility, area-wide community and countries outside the continent that should be connected to the network by sea and air connections.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has a programme of 12 projects of local and regional infrastructure, which must be implemented in the 2012-2017 period and are budgeted for about USD 500 billion.
