Huíla – The Minister of Urbanisation and Construction, Fernando Fonseca, said on Tuesday in Lubango city that the rehabilitation of the main roads that link the provinces of Huíla, Huambo, Cunene, Benguela and Namibe is an effort made by the Angolan executive.
Speaking to the press at the end of his two-day visit to Huíla province, the minister said that the conclusion of the rehabilitation works will facilitate the population’s access to agricultural fields, as well as they will boost the development of the region.
He said that the roads represent an indicative of development, proximity, identity and incentive to local production.
According to him, it is needed appropriate equipment and specialised staff for a good execution of projects.
"We managed to gather here national companies that contributed to the execution of some roads that were recently inaugurated", said the minister.
He said that with the recovery of these roads, the Angolan government is in position to implement programmes to combat poverty and communication within localities by roads, so as to improve the population’s living conditions.
