Huambo – The secretary of State for Housing, Joaquim Silvestre, laid the foundation stone for the construction of 500 houses in the locality of Lossambo, central Huambo province, Angop learned here.
The undertaken has been assigned to five companies that will build 100 T3 houses each in six months, with a cost of Usd 3.4 million per lot (Usd 1,0 is Akz 95,50), under a Government’s initiative to lessen the shortage of houses in the region.
The site receiving the 500 houses will also have stores, hotels, cinema, church, social and cultural centre, national police station, schools, multi-purpose pavilion, university campus, sports facilities, hospitals, fire services and others for the population.
Speaking to the press, the contractors said their companies have the necessary human and material requirements to deliver the hundred houses in six months as agreed.
During his stay at the Lossambo land reserve, near Huambo city, the secretary of State formally delivered 370 plots to the populations to build their own houses.
Joaquim Silvestre will also learn of the state of the construction of houses at Caala land reserve and deliver 211 plots of land to people in the municipality of Cachiungo, Huambo province.
