Luena – The Ministry of Urbanisation and Construction (Minuc) will reinforce its capacity to intervene in the sector of road infrastructures in the country’s eastern and northern provinces.
This is contained in the final communiqué from the 1st Broad Consultative Council of the Ministry that took place from February 15-16 in Luena, eastsern Moxico province.
The ministry will prioritise the restoring of Angolan eastern region’s logistic capacity, thus securing the main road axis, the source says.
According to the note, Minuc will also asphalt the secondary roads network linking the provincial and municipal headquarters.
On the other hand, according to the source, the meeting has recommended the local authorities to allocate land plots for citizens to build homes.
The provincial governments have also been recommended to speed up the implementation of the programme of construction of 200 houses in each district of the country, as the process is delayed in some regions.
The event that went with the motto "Building for Angola’s development” was attended by Moxico deputy governor, Manuel Lituai, the secretaries of State for Construction and Housing, Joanes André and Joaquim Silvestre, respectively, including the deputy minister for Territory Organisation, Clemente Júnior, national directors, delegates and guests.
