Luanda to gain two new drinking water abstraction systems

Luanda - Two drinking water abstraction and treatment systems will be built from this year in Luanda, by the Public Water Company of Luanda (EPAL) .

 
This information was released Friday to ANGOP by the deputy director for projects and Investment of the Company, Albertino Viegas.


In a first phase, each of these stations, will have a capacity for three cubic meters per second, which corresponds to three liters per second, said the official.

 
Albertino Viegas mentioned the water treatment stations of Bita and Quilonga Grande, which will be built parallel and phased over three year period.


According to him, these stations will be built on the banks of the Kwanza River and supplying Luanda Sul, particularly Benfica II, Camama, Cabolombo, among others areas.

 
He added that from the Quilonga Grande the project foresees to supply the new airport, Catete and "Quilometro 44". While the Quilonga Grande will benefit the construction of seven distribution centers to supply areas of Bom Jesus, Quilometro 44, Kapalanga, new airport and Sequele.

 
On the other hand, Albertino Viegas said that from the Cabolombo zone, EPAL plans to build a distribution center that will supply the location of Ramiros.
