Prefab house factory to boost housing programme in southern region

Lubango - The Secretary of State for Housing and Urbanisation, Joaquim Silvestre, said on Tuesday in Lubango city, southern Huíla province, that the inauguration of the pre fabricated house factory will enable the boosting of the housing programme in the southern region of the country.

Speaking to the press, the secretary of state said that this factory will reduce the deficit of the construction materials in the southern region of Angola and it will meet the goals of the housing programme.

According to him, the implantation of this factory in the province will influence other entrepreneurs to invest in the area and thus boost the sector.

Joaquim Silvestre said that the project will help the Angolan government to resolve some difficulties in terms of procuring materials, as 11.000 houses are expected to be built in Huíla province.

The factory, which is estimated at USD 8.690 million, has the capacity to build 100 residences per month.
