Cunene
72 hectares demined in Ombadja land reserve

Ondjiva - Seventy two out of 999 hectares of the Ombandja land reserve, southern Cunene province, have been demined since last May by a regional brigade of the National Demining Institute, the local INAD chief told Angop today.


According to Pedro Seteco, the 15 sappers working in the landmine removal operation  have detected 15,700 assorted metals, one 60mm mortar shell and two hand grenades.


Mr Seteco added that similar demining operations are taking place in the land reserves fo Ondjiva, Namacunde and Curoca.
