Muxima sanctuary
Access roads to Muxima sanctuary ready for pilgrimage

Luanda - The main roads that lead to Muxima village, in Quissama District, have received repair works aiming to lessen traffic in the region during the holding of Catholic pilgrimage, which will take place on 04-05 September, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Muxima.

In order to assess the repair works carried out in the site, a group comprising local journalists and officials from the National Roads Institute (INEA) toured some of the routes, having confirmed some progresses compared to last year.

The main progress recorded is the construction of a new bridge over the Kwanza River located in Catete/Muxima road, whose inauguration is set to take place this year in December.

Usually held in September, the feast to worship Our Lady of Muxima takes place every year since 1833.
