Luanda - The director general of the Luanda’s Institute of Planning and Urban Management (IPGUL), Hélder José, said Tuesday here that his institution has been receiving positive signs from citizens residing within the area chosen for the construction of the future political and administrative centre.
Speaking to Angop, the official said that the residents of the area have started producing their property ownership proofs.
This is in contrast with their initial hesitation resulting from fears of a decree for immediate implementation of the political and administrative centre at Praia do Bispo zone and part of Coqueiros ward, in Luanda’s Ingombota district.
According to him, now the process is going smoothly with a great participation of the residents of the said areas.
I has been a week since the residents of the listed areas have been presenting proofs of ownership of their houses and plots of land with a view to obtaining a fair compensation from the Government.
The government has designated the zone to build a political and administrative centre, a decision that met with some hesitation from residents who feared their property would just be usurped without any compensation.
