Luanda – The Angolan minister of Urbanisation and Construction, José da Silva Ferreira, reaffirmed Friday in Luanda that the promotion of social housing is one of the priorities of the Government whose policy seeks the satisfaction of the basic needs of the most vulnerable populations.
The minister was speaking at the opening of the meeting on presentation of bills, decrees and gathering of contributions on “Estate brokering and urban renting” and “Social housing construction cooperatives”.
He said this wish must be supported with a set of norms and legal framework that safeguards the interests of the State and of the citizen.
According to the minister, the Government is aware of its responsibilities and together with its partners is seeking solutions for the programme to be sustainable and credible.
"The promotion of housing is a principles enshrined in the Constitution and is a constitutional obligation of the State and of the Ministry of Urbanisation and Construction to secure a correct and adequate realisation of the State housing policy, in its capacity as regulating entity”, said the minister.
To José Ferreira, the event has brought together people directly interested in the matter and will tackle a set of bills and decrees that will legally support the activity.
The meeting is intended to design a normative and legal framework for support for the options of the National Urbanisation and Housing Programme and promotin of housing in the country.
