Luanda - The temporary road accessing the  Baleizão Square and Luanda Island and “Praia do Bispo”, built to be used as alternative to road traffic in Luanda marginal, will be opened this Saturday.

The opening of the road will enable the closure of part of Luanda Marginal Avenue, which will undergo repair works in light of the reconstruction programme of Luanda Bay.

At the end of a visit held Wednesday at the site by the governor of Luanda province, Francisca do Espírito Santo, the director for projects area of the contract firm, Miguel Carneiro, said the road will have the same capacity as the current marginal, with two lanes in each direction, where were created 200 car parking.

The new phase of the project to improve the Luanda Bay will last one year and comprises the construction of a viaduct connecting Luanda Island and first stage works over Luanda Marginal avenue.
