Luanda - The second phase of the housing project known as “Nova Vida”, whose contract was signed last Friday, in Luanda, includes the construction in 18 months of 2,565 houses for public servants.
According to the contract, signed between the National Housing Institute (INH) and a Chinese consortium, the first residences will be ready by the second semester of this year.
Speaking during the act, the INH’s director, Eugénio Correia, said that for this phase, the costs are estimated at USD 140 million, adding that the project will contribute to reducing the housing shortage in the country.
He added that civil servants will be given priority to acquire the houses.
The construction project comprises houses and apartments of the type T2, T3 and T4, which will be built in the ambit of the national housing programme, which predicts to construct one million houses until 2012 all over the country.
