Luanda– The inhabitants of Ramiro ward, in Samba District, have gained a new hospital with the capacity of 70 beds.
The hospital, which was built in the framework of the extension programme of the health network in Luanda, will start functioning as from 2010.
Speaking to ANGOP on Tuesday, the provincial director of the public works department of Luanda, Torres Bunga, said that the construction works of the hospital started in 2009 and it will comprise the services of obstetrics and gynaecology, medicine, surgery ward, paediatrics, emergency unit, orthopaedics, dental medicine, clinical analysis, among other specialities.
According to the director, the work is already concluded, missing only the equipping of the hospital for its functioning, to serve the community of Ramiro and neighbouring areas.
The construction of the hospital is part of the project of the government of Luanda aimed to increase the health coverage and improve the medical service in all districts, by taking specialised services closer to the citizens.
