Sumbe - Seven new land reserves for self-construction of houses were identified in 2009 by the authorities in seven districts of central Kwanza Sul province.
The information is part of a report from the provincial department of Urbanisation and Housing that reached Angop, stating the institution is carrying out the topographic study of the said areas.
According to the source, 1,579 hectares have been identified in the district of Mussende, Libolo has 882, Conda (219,098), Ebo (159,824), Kassongue (252,078), Seles (229,234) and Kilenda (100).
The report states as well that a programme of expansion of the land reserves in the districts of Porto Amboim, Amboim, Kibala and Cela is underway.
In Kwanza Sul province, five land reserves have been designated. Two are in Sumbe district and the other three are at the localities of Porto Amboim, Amboim and Cela.
These reserves, according to the source, will receive more than 3,500 houses.
Kwanza Sul province has 12 districts and a population estimated at 2.3 million inhabitants.
