Luanda – At least 1,200 kilometres of main, secondary and tertiary roads in the southern Huíla Province are being repaired since 2007, in the ambit of the roads rehabilitation programme in this region.
Speaking to ANGOP, the provincial director of the public works department, Rosário Ima Panzo, said that it was already rehabilitated 500 kilometres of roads since the beginning of the works.
It is being repaired the road sections of Matala/Cutato, Cacula/Quilengue, Lubango/Ondjiva and Lubango/Benguela.
The undertaking is an initiative of Angola’s Road Institute (INEA) and comprises the levelling of the road, creation of drainage system, asphalting, as well as setting up of road signs.
Without disclosing the monetary amount invested in the programme, Rosário Ima Panze said that the rehabilitation of those roads will reduce some of the constraints and improve the road
circulation in this province.
