Luanda
Floods in Cassenda ward to end soon

Luanda – The administrator of Maianga district, Manuel Marta, stated Friday here that the rehabilitation works carried out on "21 de Janeiro" avenue and on "Unidade em Luta" street, in Cassenda ward (Luanda), will solve the problems of floods in that area during
the rainy season.

Speaking to ANGOP regarding the requalification works of wards of the district under his jurisdiction, Manuel Marta indicated that the abovementioned streets are receiving new joint tubes with capacity to evacuating 80 cubic metres/second of residual water.

According to the official, the two streets are essential for the drainage of rain waters, for that reason, a deep work is being carried out in order to curb the problem, he added.

“Cassenda ward is plain and since there is neither drainage systems along the street of the Engineering Laboratory of Angola nor in the airport area the water used to flood the district. But with this work undertaken, we think that the ward will be free of floods mainly made up of dirty waters", he assured.
