Abidjan - The representative of the Vatican to Côte d'Ivoire, apostolic archbishop Ambranse Madtha, on Saturday transmitted to the Angolan ambassador to this West African country, Gilberto Buta Lutucuta, his satisfaction at the transparent and fair way in which were held the September 05 legislative elections in Angola.
On the occasion, archbishop Ambranse Madtha congratulated the Angolan ruling MPLA party on its victory in the polls, as well as encouraged the new MPs and government to do everything to keep the country in the path of development and create conditions for the well-being of the people.
On his turn, the Angolan diplomat gave to his interlocutor information about the electoral process, having highlighted the responsible and exemplary way the government prepared this important democratic process.
He also mentioned the orderly and civic way voters went to the ballot, thus corresponding fully to all the expectations.
Gilberto Buta Lutucuta said he envisaged a similar environment for the presidential election scheduled for the year 2009, as well as thanked and recognised the support given by churches for the success of the whole electoral process in Angola.
The two interlocutors also pledged to continue to work to encourage the Ivorian politicians to dialogue with one another, so that they can find the best solutions to the problems in this country.
