Mbanza Kongo – The contribution of the Baptist Evangelic Church in Angola (IEBA) to the success of the legislative elections held last September 05 was on Sunday recognised in Mbanza Kongo city, northern Zaire province, by the local governor,
Pedro Sebastião.
This was expressed during a thanksgiving worship held under the celebrations of the 130th anniversary of the arrival of the first British Protestants to Mbanza Kongo, in 1878.
According to the governor, the contribution of the church and of other institutions of the nation contributed to restoring the country’s constitutional normality, 16 years after the holding of the first multiparty elections.
On the other hand, Pedro Sebastião reaffirmed the provincial government's support to philanthropic organisations, to the Baptist Church in particular, in what concerns the implementation of social projects in favour of the population.
