Luanda - The MPs elected from the legislative election of September 5, were on Friday in Luanda informed on the procedures to observe during the swear-in ceremony set for September 30 in Luanda.
This was during a meeting held with the participation of almost all 220 MPs, chaired by the outgoing speaker, Roberto de Almeida, flanked by his deputy, João Lourenço.
The ceremony is part of the parliament’s internal regulations and basically includes an oath, followed by a solemn declaration of investiture presented by the outgoing Roberto de Almeida.
On the occasion, Roberto de Almeida wished the incoming MPs a very fruitful term that deepens democracy, towards the construction of the basis for the establishment of social wellbeing.
Among the most prominent figures attending the meeting stress goes to Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos and Paulo Cassoma, who have been appointed by the ruling MPLA politburo as Parliament speaker and prime minister.
According to the results of the September 5 legislative election, the Parliament will be composed as follows: ruling MPLA (191), opposition Unita (16), PRS (eight), FNLA (three) and ND (two).
