Côte d'Ivoire qualifies for quarterfinals

Cabinda - Côte d'Ivoire qualified for the quarterfinals of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations (CAN2010) with a 3-1 victory over Ghana, in a football match played at the Chiazi national stadium, in northern Cabinda province.

 

The Ivorian goals were scored by Gervinho (23 minutes), Tiene (67th) and Drogba (90th), whilst Gyan reduced for the Ghanaians in the 93rd minute from the penalty spot.

 

Côte d'Ivoire obtained four points at the top of the standings table of the group B, following a nil-nil draw with Burkina Faso in the opening round.

 

The third round shall be played between Burkina Faso and Ghana on January 19, in the Angolan capital, Luanda.
