Luanda – The Post Office of Angola on Friday here released a series of four stamps portraying the football stadiums built to host games of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2010).
The initiative was considered by the deputy minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Ana Maria Guimarães, as of been linked to the great sports movement that the country is hosting and that the post office of Angola could not be indifferent.
The initiative, under the motto "Angola on stamps", depicts five topics, namely, sports, culture, fauna and flora, nature and events, thereby reflecting the tourism beauties of the country, especially of provinces hosting CAN2010 matches", Ana Maria Guimarães said.
The president of CAF, Issa Hayatou, who attended the event, expressed satisfaction at the initiative of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MTTI), having assured that his institution will take the gesture into consideration.
"I should praise the organisers of this event, who sought to illustrate the competition, and CAF will take this initiative into consideration, if possible we might suggest that other member states follow the same example", he referred.
The minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, José Carvalho da Rocha, the deputy minister of Youth and Sports, Albino da Conceição, general officers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and other government dignitaries attended the event.
