Angolan referee makes debut in CAN final phases

 

 

 

 

Benguela – The international referee Hélder Martins became on Saturday the first Angolan official to participate in the final stage of the African Nations Cup, after refereeing the match between Nigeria and Benin, for the second round of Group C of CAN2010.

 
In the first round of Group B, he was the fourth referee in the goal-less draw between Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso, in Cabinda.


On Saturday, at Ombaka Stadium, before 25,000 spectators, Hélder Martins had the opportunity to show to Africa and the world, that the organising country of the 27th edition of the continental tournament has talented referees.


During the match between Nigeria and Benin he was skilful, calm and with good physical appearance.
