Air Force assists in transporting equipment to CAN2010

Luanda – The National Air Force (FAN) currently flew over 30 times with "IL 76" planes to assist in transporting various equipment of the structures involved in the organisation of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations (CAN2010), said this Wednesday here the chief of staff of this division of the Angolan Armed Forces, general Francisco Afonso Gonçalves Lopes "Hanga".

 

In an interview to ANGOP, Francisco Lopes "Hanga" said that from the means transported to the provinces of Cabinda, Huíla and Benguela, highlight falls to equipment of the National Police and of the National Airports Exploration and Air Navigation Firm (ENANA) to equip refurbished airports, propaganda material, lawn mowing and irrigation machines, among others.

 

He affirmed that this type of airplane (IL 76) has been playing an important role in the transportation of the material used in the construction of football stadiums in the three provinces that will host matches of the CAN, which is set to start on Sunday, January 10.

 

Referring to the Sables Antelopes (national squad), general Hanga stressed that Angolan players have a great responsibility ahead of them and urged all for a good performance with "humbleness and strength".
