Over 20,000 bodies exhumed in illegal cemeteries in Mulenvos

Luanda – Over 20,000 bodies buried on illegal cemeteries in Mulenvos de Baixo zone, located in Viana District, in Luanda, were exhumed since September 2008 until the current date.

 

The supervisor of the exhumation team, Mundito Eduardo, guaranteed Thursday to ANGOP that the process is in its final phase and it is predicted to be conclude in December, without however have revealing the exact number of bodies to be exhumed.

 

The corpses are being transferred to Capary cemetery in Cacuaco District. 

 

The official considered as excellent the activity carried out so far since, he added, it follows the norms of public health recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO).   

 

Several corpses coming from different of Luanda’s districts, with emphasis on Viana, Cacuaco, Sambizanga and Cazenga, used to be buried on illegal cemeteries in Mulenvos locality.
