Over 160 workplace accidents recorded in second quarter of 2013

Luanda - At least 169 accidents at workpace were reported in various sectors of activity in the second quarter of 2013, Angop learned.
The data were released Thursday in Luanda by the General Labour Inspection Department (IGT) of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security ( MAPTSS) during a meeting convened to assess the activities carried out in the second quarter of 2013.
The general-inspector, Augusto Pombal, told the press that of the 169 accidents, 109 cases were considered light, 52 serious and eight resulted in deaths.
According to him, the fatal accidents occurred in the provinces of Luanda, with seven cases and Kwanza Sul (one).
During the above period, the country also recorded 8,003 cases of labour law infringements in various areas.
