President, José Eduardo dos Santos, unveils Luanda marginal avenue
Luanda - The facelft project of Luanda new marginal avenue, worth about 36 billionKwanzas, was inaugurated on Tuesday, in a ceremony chaired by the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, Angop has learnt.
The project comprises 147.000 metres of pedestrian spaces, 3,1 kilometres of maritime pavements, three infantile parks, three spaces for sports practice, five basketball fields, five spaces for cultural events, 10 public squares,
The works were done by the Sociedade Baia de Luanda, SA, that has as main shareholders the state run Angola Oil Firm (Sonangol), the Atlantico Private Bank, the Portuguese Commercial Bank and Fini-Capital.
According to the CEO of the Luanda Bay Society, Carlos José da Silva, the inauguration of this project represents the requalification of one of the most emblematic urban spaces of the country, materialising one of the deeper renewall of infrastructures and creating simultaneously and important leisure area for the families.
