Bento Bembe checks social infrastructures in Tomboco

Mbanza Kongo – The Secretary of State for Human Rights, António Bento Bembe, who is paying a five-day working visit to the northern Zaire province, checked on Wednesday the construction and rehabilitation works of social infrastructures in Tomboco district.
Accompanied by the vice governor of Zaire for technical services and infrastructures, Kilele Wacthama, the Secretary of State visited the expansion works of the municipal hospital, a secondary school and local cinema.
Bento Bembe learnt about the construction works of the local branch of the Angolan Savings and Credit Bank (BPC) and 13 residences for staff of Tomboco district.
Speaking to the press, the official recognised the efforts made by the local and central government in the implementation of various social projects in the region, aiming to improve the local population’s living standards.
On Thursday, the official is leading in Mbanza Kongo city a workshop on “Education for a culture of human rights”, which will be attended by members of the local government, justice organs, teachers and students.
António Bento Bembe will end his visit in Zaire province on Friday.
