Chief of Staff of Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), gen. Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda
Luanda - The head of staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, points out as the priority of his second mandate to accomplish with zeal the mission attributed by the Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
"Serving better possible the soldiers (...) and we can implement his guidance", said the General, when speaking to press, after his swear-in ceremony, at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda.
He mentioned the improvement of the troop condition and the creation of the conditions of stability for the coutry as the main challenges.
General Nunda also pledged to work with the national police and other organs related to the defense activity to improve the internal security and guarantee stability on the borders.
He also said that the prevailing situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) worries Angola, due to the extensive common border with that country.
"Any situation of instability, and not enough security, on the other side, has reflections in our country, said the Head of staff of the Angolan Armed Forces.
On his turn, the commander of the National Police, Ambrósio de Lemos, mentioned the maintenance of the public order and tranquility as the main challenges for his sector, adding that it will be a work of continuity.
