Luanda – The assistant secretary-general of the Youth Brigade of Literature, Jonh Bella, said Friday in Luanda that the shortage of financial resources, the lack of sponsorship, and the stringency of Angolan publishers hamper the publication of literary works.
Speaking to ANGOP after being invited to speak on the role of literature in the development of man, the writer said that is a considerable number of writers, mainly youth, interested in publishing works with some regularity, but this desideratum has not been possible due to lack of resources.
The difficulties are mostly felt outside the province of Luanda, explained the officials, adding that the absence of private investment in some provinces is reflected in the lack of sponsorship.
The creation of libraries and reading rooms in the cities of Luanda, the source said, also will serve as a stimulating read and consequently raise the intellectual level of young Angolans.
