The Institute for the Public Business Sector is the organ of the State’s indirect administration under the Ministry of Economy, whose corporate purpose is to help the public sector companies to create an added value in getting maximum efficiency.

It is also responsible for running the State’s privatisation policy and continuing the processes of privatisation and re-privatisation.

ISEP controls about 86 active public companies, but there are others lying idle, going through a process of liquidation, dissolution or privatisation and re-privatisation.

In 2015, ISEP checked the accounts of 57 public companies, including that of Angop whose account passed the test without reservation.

The Institute was established in 2009 and is under the Ministry of Economy.
